About MCLM’s Government & Council Projects
Scale, compliance, and certainty. MCLM delivers all three. From stadiums and aquatic centres to schools, depots, parking centres, parks, and boardwalks, we integrate in-house design, fabrication, and installation with our own fleet and crews. Verified capacities up to 2,000 kN, real-time logging, and engineer sign-off ensure safe, compliant foundations delivered on program.

What Are Multiturn Helixes?
Our multiturn helix is a one-piece cast steel helical system welded directly to the pile shaft. Unlike single-turn plate helices, the multiturn helix uses multiple flutes in a conical shape to compact soil as it advances. This action forms a “pressure bulb” within the soil, which spreads the load uniformly and significantly increases capacity. Testing has shown that multiturn helices can perform up to 1.75–2.2 times more efficiently than single-turn plate helices of the same diameter. By engaging dense sands, clays, or rock at shallower depths, the multiturn helix delivers stronger end-bearing capacity, reduces installation time, and eliminates the need for pre-drilling in most soils.
Advantages of Multiturn Helixes Over Plate Helixes
Screw Piling Ground Testing:
Screw Pile Testing is crucial for understanding screw pile capacities in various ground conditions, especially in challenging terrains like soft, sandy, silty, or filled areas, and in scenarios involving additional forces such as wind or earthquakes. MCLM Group provides expert services in selecting and testing screw piles for diverse projects, ensuring robust foundations for buildings and structures.
We conduct comprehensive site-specific testing, reaching depths over 16 meters and 500kN per screw pile, and follow Australian standards in installation and load-bearing capacity assessment.
Our methodology includes detailed site work, monitoring, and incremental load simulations, with results presented in thorough reports. This approach ensures the safety and stability of projects, particularly for large structures and those in wind-exposed locations.

Geographical Reach
At MCLM Piling and Construction Group, our operations span a wide coverage area across the East Coast and inland regions of Australia, with Sydney as our central base. With our other locations based in wollongong and Newcastle. We service everything from the Western Suburbs through to the Northern Beaches, ensuring complete coverage of the Greater Sydney region.
Southern Reach: From Wollongong through to Melbourne even down to tasmania, delivering screw piling solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects.
Northern Reach: Extending from Newcastle up to Brisbane, servicing both metropolitan and regional areas.
Inland Coverage: Regularly mobilising to Orange, Griffith, and Canberra, ensuring our expertise is available wherever strong foundations are needed.
Our ability to service such a wide geographical area is made possible by our fleet of specialised machinery, skilled teams, and in-house fabrication, enabling us to adapt to any project size and location while maintaining precision, efficiency, and quality.
